Following their recital in Ballarat, soprano Shimona Rose and pianist Peter Toohey reunite for a Melbourne performance of An Invitation to Voyage, presented by Art Etc Collective at the beautiful Nightingale Gallery.

Inspired by the themes of travel, longing, love and imagination, the programme takes audiences on a musical journey through German Lieder, French mélodie, English song and opera. Featuring works by Schubert, Poulenc, Duparc, Boulanger, Britten and Dvořák, alongside Australian composers Calvin Bowman and Carl Vine, the recital explores the many ways music can transport us across places, memories and emotions.

Set within the intimate surroundings of the Nightingale Gallery, the afternoon brings together poetry, storytelling and song in a celebration of the voice and piano.

Shimona Rose will be joined by Peter Toohey on the piano. Both are former Ballarat Grammar piano students of Bron Sozanski.

Inspired by themes of wandering, dreaming, and remembrance, this intimate recital brings together music by Schubert, Duparc, Debussy, Britten, Dvořák and Australian composer Calvin Bowman. Through moonlit songs, flowing waters, and imagined journeys, the programme traces a path from longing and discovery to reflection and homecoming.

Soprano Shimona Rose returns to Carl Orff’s exhilarating Carmina Burana as soprano soloist, joining the Bristol Ensemble and Fitzhardinge Consort at St George’s Bristol, alongside tenor Ilja Aksionov and baritone Dan Robson.

One of the most iconic works of the 20th-century choral repertoire, Carmina Burana is a thrilling celebration of fate, fortune, love and the pleasures of life. Drawing on medieval poetry, Orff's dramatic score combines driving rhythms, powerful choral writing and soaring vocal solos, from the electrifying opening chorus O Fortuna to moments of delicate lyricism.

Join soprano Shimona Rose at London's Cockpit Theatre for Laksa, Kopi and Shoes!, a trilogy of short operas exploring universal themes of food, relationships and shopping through the lens of life in Singapore.

Singaporean soprano Shimona Rose makes her role debut as Rosalinde in Johann Strauss II's sparkling operetta Die Fledermaus, presented by Singapore Lyric Opera.

One of the most beloved works in the operetta repertoire, Die Fledermaus is a delightful comedy of mistaken identities, disguises, flirtation and revenge, set against the glamour of Viennese high society. With its irresistible waltzes, witty dialogue and memorable melodies, Strauss's masterpiece brings together humour, romance and musical brilliance.

Shimona takes on the role of Rosalinde, the clever and spirited wife of Gabriel von Eisenstein, who turns the tables on her philandering husband through a series of playful deceptions at Prince Orlofsky's extravagant ball.
